JAMES BERNTSEN

Jim grew up in Woodridge, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. There he began working at a young age and learned the value of hard work. After graduation, he join the Navy and was stationed at Lakehurst New Jersey where he trained to become an Aircrew Survival Technician. Jim was stationed at NAS Miramar for several years and fell in love with San Diego. After the service Jim developed and operated several successful restaurants in San Diego County.

After selling the restaurants Jim starting inventing, patenting and selling consumer products to national retailers and e commerce websites. His inventions include LaserColor, a technology for producing instant foil color from copiers and laser printers, The Auto-Finder an innovative hand-held device designed to locate lost cars in parking lots, and Hot-Can, a self-heating beverage container that delivers a hot beverage or soup anytime anywhere.

Jim has thirty years experience in sales, marketing, and customer service.

Jim and his wife Martha have lived in Ramona for over 30 years. Martha owns and operates The Crazy 9 Patch Quilt Shop in Ramona. They have two wonderful daughters, Mollie and Gracie.
